About Us

Our mission:

Our mission at ThorpyFX is to produce the best sounding, most robust and most beautiful guitar effects available. This is achieved through great design, great engineering and holding true to our ethos of providing "Superior Fidelity Tone Machines" to discerning guitarists.

What does this mean to you?

Simply put, when you buy a ThorpyFX branded pedal you are buying a promise. A promise of superior quality sound, the most robust construction possible and the utilisation of the finest quality components available. ThorpyFX Pedals are built to survive the rigours of the road and yet deliver you consistent tone time and time again in all working environments.

A bit about us:

ThorpyFX is a brand new entrant into the boutique effects pedal arena. Founded in 2014 and releasing its first product in 2015, the company aims to deliver on its promise of producing Superior Fidelity Tone Machines for the Electric Guitar.

After a full career in the British Army,  Major Adrian Thorpe MBE was encouraged by his wife Georgia to follow his passion for building effects pedals and make his amazing creations available to other tone hounds. Initially Thorpy built pedals as a form of relaxation that allowed him to have pedals better than anything available to buy on the market. These pedals were built with an attention to detail that bordered on the obsessive, this obsession over details is the foundation for how ThorpyFX designs its pedals.

ThorpyFX pedals are designed from the ground up to:

  • Sound as good as they can possibly sound. During development ThorpyFX pedals are benchmarked against the leading competition and tailored to beat them in all areas.

  • Use only the best components available such as Wima and Panasonic capacitors, 1% metal film resistors, Audiophile grade Op-Amps and gold plated PCB's.

  • Use the best quality 3PDT footswitch available, rated for many many cycles and with a smooth action. These are costly to use but quality doesn't come cheap.

  • Use robust construction techniques such as off-board wired (Neutrik) Jacks and Switches to remove physical stress on the PCB.

  • Integrate protection circuitry to reduce the potential for damage from incorrect power inputs.

  • Use a custom built, gig-ready enclosure designed to look great and be built like the proverbial outhouse.

  • Be something you are proud to own and proud to use for many years to come.

ThorpyFX is a family run business located in Wiltshire, England. The team is made up of Adrian, Georgia and Oppenheimer the dog. Oppie' provides encouragement and just loves a bit of six string action, he is a real tone hound!
