First off, Merry Christmas one and all.
its become a bit of a tradition for me to build something special for myself over Christmas. In the past I've built handwired amps, handwired fuzzes, guitars, even the Oldtimer began as a Christmas project.
Why do I do this? Well it sort of grounds me and puts me back to the place of joy that was the beginning of ThorpyFx, the reason i started the company in the first place, to make the best, most awesome pedals I can.
This years project is EAO.
What is EAO? EAO stands for Explodes All at Once, in short its one of my favourite germanium circuits ever, the venerable Burns Buzzaround. It doesn't clean up, its not subtle, it has a savagery far ahead of its time. they are instant plug in and grin pedals.
I've built them to look and sound OLD. The enclosures are reproductions of the classic pressed steel TB style enclosures with a lime powdercoat finish. The internals are built using old school turret board construction, using NOS germanium PNP transistors, Panasonic and Vishay Caps as well as proper carbon comp resistors. these are battery only pedals, but to make it suitable for your pedal board I've added a power cutoff switch on the middle pot to allow the battery to be disconnected when not in use.
The first one is built fully, the next nine are at the 75% stage (just need the internals wiring together). These will be built on a first come first served basis. please allow 3 weeks prior to shipping.
